Obama: Yes or No?

The_progressive_cover_2 The May issue of The Progressive magazine includes a very interesting cover story.  Writer Edwidge Danticat and Professor Adolph Reed, Jr. give their views of Barack Obama's presidential candidacy and what it could mean for the country.  Please check out the articles.  I think you'll find them very interesting.  There's something for Obama supporters and detractors to consider.  Kudos to The Progressive for taking the debate to a new level.

I should have said Wright hasn't changed his opinion nor has Obama. This will play out the way it should. This is silly season politics. People will grow tired of it and it will eventually disappear.

I think Pastor Wright meant that it was not Min. Farrakhan that gave him his light skin complexion implying that his ancestors were raped by slavemasters.

We must be careful not to let the media make us take sides. In the end Wright has changed his opinion and Obama hasn't changed his opinion of the issues at hand.

Question: Exactly what did Pastor Wright mean when he said Louis Farrakhan was not his enemy because he wasn't the one who put him in slavery, etc -- then added:

"and he didn't make my skin this color."

I think that comment was disturbing. What the hell was he saying?
