Interview Clip:  Fauntroy Discusses Race Relations on NPR

I participated in a discussion on race relations and the continuing need for affirmative action on the Wednesday, June 25 edition of NPR's News and Notes with Farai Chideya.  I was joined by Danielle Belton of Black Snob, and Amani Channel of My Urban Report.

While I think he has largely ignored his capacity to lead on the issue, Barack Obama's presidential campaign is providing the opportunity for thoughtful discussion and debate on issues that center around race.  Let's hope intelligent discussion can continue and, further, that we wrest control of the language that we use to discuss race from those who only want to use race to validate their own warped view of the world.

The issue of race relations has to begin with immigration, because immigration has been the wedge that’s kept the American European and African from assimilating for more than a century.

In my opinion, every time the “blacks” have begun to prosper a new “white” group has immigrated to the States and wiped out their gains.

My ancestry, the Irish for example, migrated to New York City at the end of the 19th century and immediately the “black” community suffered. These new “white” slaves worked cheaper and their skin was closer in color to the people in power, thereby wiping out the gains the darker-skinned Americans had made.

Now an influx of the world’s hordes are doing what the Irish did to the blacks to all of us…and more. The concept of what it means to be an American (an ethnic group unto itself) has been eroded beyond repair. So please, don’t feed me any more of this crap that “we’ve got to come together” when nobody on top is showing me with their actions that they really want it to happen.

Basically, the overpaid and lazy (in the eyes of our treasonous political and business leaders) Americans are being rapidly replaced by hungrier and more desperate minions of Mexico, the Islamic states, Southern Asia, South America and a select few from Africa to do the bidding of our corporatist rulers.

Personally, I think the policy of the American goverment regarding immigration has always been less altruistic and more based in greed and the desire to keep the hands of the masses at each other’s throats and away from their double chins. 

Immigration has actually evolved, becoming part of a comprehensive plan to liquidate the United States while packaging its power and assets for reassembly in corporate headquarters around the world. Whether China will be convinced to go along with the plan, however, has yet to be determined.

I also believe that in the future all miiitary actions will be funded and controlled by big business which in turn, when the time is right will shed its ridiculous pretense of “free enterprise” and show itself as it the brutal force that it really is, sheer, naked power that kills.
